BLACKPOOL have cooled their interest in Barnsley winger Martin Devaney.
An Initial £150,000 bid was turned down flat and there has not been a follow-up.

"It seems to have died down," said assistant manager Ryan Kidd. "He has not given any indication that he is unhappy here and he is definitely part of our plans."

Meanwhile, manager Simon Davey admitted he was flattered to be linked with the No 2 job at Manchester United.

It has been reported that he is among the possible contenders to replace Sir Alex ferguson's assistant, Carlos Queiroz who is being tipped to leave Old Trafford to take over the Portugese national team.

"It is flattering to be linked with a club of such stature, but I have a job here," Davey told Barnsley's official website.

"We must be doing something right if I'm being linked with jobs like this.

"We still have a long way to go at Oakwell and we're all looking forward to the new season."
