DONCASTER Rugby League Club will have 20-year-old Hull FC full-back Ashley Thackeray making his debut in tomorrow night's rearranged National League Two clash at Swinton.
The former under-18 international has joined the Dons on loan from the Super League side and he could be joined in tomorrow's game by a prop.

"The support that we had in Sunday's Northern Rail Cup final at Blackpool has encouraged me to try and strengthen the squad," said chairman CraIg Harrison last night.

"Not only did we have a great following, but they stuck by the team throughout even though we were getting well beaten.

" If I can continue to get that sort of support back at the Keepmoat Stadium then I will continue to lead from the front.

"We still want to get back into Division One but Sunday's result shows just how far we have to go to build a side capable of competing at that level.

"I knew that it was going to be hard, but I expected that we would give them a closer game and some of the players I thought would do well didn't."

Harrison confirmed that one of the few players to show up well in the record 60-0 defeat by Salford, New Zealand hooker Corey Lawrie, was unlikely to still be at the club next season.

"I have told Corey, who came here on a two-year contract, that I can't guarantee to pay him what he is on this season - not least because I don't know what division we will be playing in," he said.

"There are several clubs interested in him and we've told him that we won't stand in his way. We pushed the boat out this season to try to bounce straight back to Division One, but crowds have been down."
