RE: 'Litter louts fined', page 2, September 24. Ironically, whilst walking under the walkway leading to Sheffield Magistrates' Court where, no doubt these 'litter louts' paid their fines, I observed security staff standing outside having a cigarette and then, rather than dispose of it in the correct way, they threw their cigarettes over the walkway where I happened to be walking, adding to the already disgusting mess which never seems to get cleaned up.
Is it a case of one rule for them and one rule for everyone else?

Name and address supplied.

WHAT happens when student litter louts discard hundreds of leaflets advertising night clubs at their welcome event in the large marquee next to the S
tudents' Union on Paternoster Row?

The pavements of this street, Grinders Hill, and the bottom of Shoreham Street, were a disgrace.

Even our City Hall ballroom was a culprit, advertising their Saturday Night Fever Hot Pants.

But, the worst offender was leaflets for the Embrace Nightclub, which were distributed in a plastic carrier bag with leaflets and a condom. Nearly all the clubs were advertising their cheap booze.

The council must have known about this event and should have directed two of our Street Force officers to the venue.

I hope our new Liberal Democrat Council will prosecute the nightclubs when they start attaching their flyers to the street furniture.

Senior Citizen, Name and Address supplied.
