PROCook, the kitchen equipment and cookware retailer which has a shop in Meadowhall, has appointed administrators after hitting financial problems.
Joint administrators Richard Hill and Jeff Pope, of KPMG Restructuring, blamed the company's financial problems on its rapid expansion into high street and shopping centre locations, which happened at a time when trading was becoming tougher for the retail sector.

ProCook operates an online store, www.procook.co.uk - and employs 241 staff at 39 stores across the UK, in addition to 20 staff at its head office in Cheltenham.

The administrators say the company will continue trading while they seek a buyer for the business as a going concern.
